MYGREEN’S MY BIG MONEY GAME WINS INTERNATIONAL CREATIVE AWARD
First Nations and Worldways Social Marketing recognized for interactive multimedia game

Newport, RI— First Nations Development Institute (First Nations) and its agency Worldways Social Marketing (Worldways) have been awarded the 2013 Silver Davey Award for the interactive multimedia game called  My Big Money Game, found online at http://mybigmoney.org/BigMoneyGame/

18-money-challenge-laptop-graphicThe name of the My Big Money Game, also known as 18 Money Challenge, refers to money that some Native American youth initially receive on their 18th birthdays through tribal per capita distribution. The game was developed by Worldways as part of the MyGreen campaign, an initiative to promote responsible money management by Native American youth. 18 Money Challenge is an interactive, web-based conditional logic game. The game features a series of real life situations where the user must make choices about how to spend $100,000. The choices the user makes drive the outcome of the game, which can range from bankruptcy to prosperity and many states in between.

“We drew inspiration from the First Nations team, who are each deeply committed to helping Native American youth create the best possible future for themselves. Their insights and respect for the youth were driving forces for development”, said Mark Marosits, Worldways senior social marketing strategist.

The Davey Awards is a competitive awards program that exclusively recognizes outstanding creative work from the best small firms from around the world. The Davey Awards is judged by the International Academy of Visual Arts. The current judging panel comprises representatives from acclaimed media, advertising, and marketing firms including Disney, MTV, Microsoft, Condé Nast and many others. 18 Money Challenge was selected from a pool of nearly 4,000 entries from the United States and around the world.
